Young People’s Shop

The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust awarded funding to Young People’s Shop in 2022 for their free, confidential, and independent counselling service, they are also an emotional support service. The shop focusses on holistic wellbeing also offering physical activities such as boxing, Personal training, skateboarding, sailing and bushcraft activities.

“At times we have all suffered from anxiety and situations that can feel overwhelming. It’s difficult to know where to turn. That’s where we come in, you can talk to us about absolutely anything! There is no judgement here, just empathy and friendly faces.”

In 2022 Young People’s Shop reached over 2000 young people through their shop and outreach services. Increasing demand for their services meant new staff roles were needed, including a new operations manager, outreach youth worker and two emotional support officers. This expansion has increased their capacity to offer remote services in new geographical areas such as Littlehampton and Midhurst.

They also increased the number of volunteer counsellors to help reduce waiting lists; all of whom are all training to be or are professional counsellors.
